Bluebell Arabians was originally the stud farm of Dr Engels who produced a great number of succesful horses predominantly from Russian Crabbet crosses.
Bluebell Arabians was the home for more than 25 years of the hugely successful stallion Plakat.

Erik Dorssers

Erik Dorssers was born and raised amongst Arabian horses. His father was the manager of the Bluebell Arabians Stud. Erik took over showing from his father at the age of 14 and showed very successfully for the late Dr. Engels and other Dutch breeders

Erik began like so many with ponies and was very active in the show jumping world. However the spirit of ‘Arabians’ had taken a firm hold on his heart. Erik went on to become private trainer for Nesjdi Arabians in Belgium and then Rosthwaite Arabians in England.
In the early 1990’s the chance came to buy Bluebell Arabians, the childhood home, the birthplace of horses, dreams and ambitions and the home of Plakat.......

Erik Dorssers has an enviable record of success at National and International level including many World Champion titles and 3 Triple Crowns to date.
